I have been reading a new book I ordered thanks to one of the ladies on one of my groups. The author is a neighbor of hers and Believe me this woman seems to know what she is talking about! Some of the things I have read to Scott and afterwards he said when we got back home he wanted to look the place over and find the cameras they had hid and were watching us with to write this book!! The book"fibromyalgia: a comprehensive approach" by Miryam Ehrlich Williamson.
Actually I have read the book clear thru, patially read it thru(you know the parts where you go back and say ....wait did I read that right?) Now I am going through with my ink pen(since my highlighters are all dead) and marking things as I come to them this time, that I either want to remember or that I want to be able to go back and say....see I knew it was the fibro when I told you that before!! Then there are those where we have looked at them and re-read several times the first time going thru and said WOW.....didn't know that but it makes a lot of sense!!
Now don't get me wrong I'm not stupid and I realise with my age that some symptoms could be just from getting older but then again some of these symptoms have been with me too long to blame it on just getting older. I also have an answer for the Doctor who is always telling me that I'm always going to be depressed and i might as well learn to live with it and just keep taking the meds all the rest of my life!! Yes I may have moments, even weeks of some depression, but you show me someone who suffers from pain who dosen't suffer from depression!! I do not plan on staying in depression all my life, he makes it sound like I had just better plan on being a psycho case the rest of my life and I don't plan on that happening!!
In fact my regular Doctor and I had a good session the other day and the neurologist and I had a good session the day before, they both are thinking we are on the right track and are hoping to see changes soon. They took me off of Celebrex and gave me some new meds that we hope once I get up to the appropriate dose for me will stop the massive spasms and restless legs that I seem to have all over my body. Scott says some nights I almost knock him out of bed with the spasms and I have knocked him upside the head a few times. I had a really bad spasm last night that jerked my whole body and made my hip where I couldn't move it. All I could do was cry and Scott had to help me move the leg so the hip was back in place so it would ease up. When I finally was able to get up I was very cautious as i wasn't sure if the hip would hold me but I needed to get up and take some meds...bad!! My whole body has increasingly let me know how much of it was involved with the spasm.....it is going to be a very long day I have an idea on Wed March 1st.
Okay better head for bed again and try to get more sleep.

Surviving yet another Valentines Day
Well, these last 2 weeks have been rough in a lot of ways.....On Feb 8th recieved word that my niece Roxanne who is in the Army was in a helicopter during a night training flight at Yakima Training Center, Washington. to quote her mom "Roxanne has a concussion and a compression fracture of the spine, whiplash and various technicolor bruises, cuts, nicks and scratches." That was a big scare but now it is still a concern as we know the compression fracture is at T7 of her spine which is just about the middle of the back!! Also it is hard on her as Roxanne is and always has been a very active person physically. The need to stay in Washington state till the investgation is over then they will be going back to Fort Drum in NewYork where they were stationed, and we will see what the Dr. there say about what needs to be done further.
Then Feb 14 has been a hard day for my family since 2000 when my sister Jane passed away from tongue cancer. Scott had even arranged for my Valentines to be on Monday the 13th so we could enjoy it. Now this year we have had another tragedy added to the Valentines Day and that is my cousin Mark in California, he and his wife Karen lost their oldest daughter Tiffany. It was thought that originally it was suicide but now it is uncertain until autopsy is finished.
I know I've been taught that God will not give us any more than we can handle as Christians but you wonder sometimes when things like this seem to pile up on you!! I've really wanted to sew or accomplish something over the last month or so but just have had no energy and with the arthur and fibro I have really been hurting. I did find a pamplet that I believe explains Fibromyalgia better than any I have seen so far If you know of someone who has fibro and want to help them it is worth reading!!
http://www.arc.org.uk/about_arth/booklets/6013/6013.htm
Well, it is almost 4am and we are up because the neighbors downstairs had their smoke alarms go off but fire department couldn't find anything. Now we have to begin to come down again so we can sleep again.

Very good first part of the week
First of all I should be in bed but tonight is one of those nights where I slept real hard for about an hour and now I'm wide awake!!
The weekend was looking like it was going to be rather dull. I did some cleaning, but for a change not in the hobbyroom. I was getting the rubbermaid/plastic bowls and containers back together where they belong and the doors where they will shut again......you know, that forever battle, where you say I am smarter than the plastic ware.....I will win!! It's amazing how once you go around the kitchen and find all the pieces, what a difference it makes in the looks of the kitchen clutter!! Then it just took some minor putting up of things and you could actually find cabinet tops in our small kitchen again......wow!!
I also got the coffee pot that my mom had brought to me that my dads mom had given them as a wedding gift, washed up and ready to use. It is old fashion compared to the ones now!! I nor Scott drink coffee but with it being ceramic I believe that I can use it to hold hot water for tea......now I will get in and make me a tea cozy for it then I can use it in the hobbyroom when I'm in there.
On Sunday I had several goals and it was very hard to stay on just one cause I kept having to get into the closet to put up things or get out things and I needed to actually go deeper into the closet stuff and get my small bookcase out to use in my bedroom. BUT....I needed to get certain things together with other things that were already in containers that were in the closet so I could get up to the computer and sewing machine here in the hobbyroom. I hate it when it is hard to decide which needs to be done first!!
Well, my son called and said he and family would be by sometime afternoon or evening so I thought.....okay I will get into the closet and get that done so i can get things put back into the closet before the kids get here. Then I find out that only the youngest, Michael is coming, he just turned 1 the first of Feb. Okay not problem He won't matter as much if I have to I can shove things in my bedroom.
WRONG.....when I hear them coming up the stairs I hear the girls talking so it is hurry hurry and stuff things back into the closet.....infact while the kids are knocking and hollering Nana, I'm hollering back Just a minute and having to get things in the closet so I can even get to the door!! But that's okay it all went in and I got my hugs and a bigger suprise as my daughter had come home at the same time they were coming in so I got to see both of my kids as well as my grandkids. YEA!!!
Rusty was doing some electical work for us so he started that while the kids ate the chicky nuggets they's brought with them and frenfries. Then we talked and played. Mandy my sons wife helped with the kids some and "helped" my son some. BUT.......they had also brought me pictures of all the kids that are around here!! So as soon as I can get it scanned I have a new pic to put up of Grand kids. We have Alexis(Mandy's 8yr old) Jerrica 31/2 yrs old, Michael 1yr old and Julie 21/2 yrs old. Very good pic of the kids, I am very happy to get a recent one.
Before they left I had my son see if he could get the knot out of my back so my rib would go back into place, which involves me laying on the floor and him having to do a lot of rubbing and massaging. The kids have never been around when he has had to do this before we realised that night......boy did he have help!! I think I felt everyone of the kids rubbing at some point!! The funniest was however, when Julie the very bold "tank" of the group got down almost on her head and pulled my hair back and said.....whacha doin Nana? We got to laughing so much it was hard to finish!! Her nose was almost on my nose and I could see her feet but she was almost on her head, and the biggest grin you can imagine!!
Okay time to get off and try to sleep....

Another Clean up Weekend
This last weekend was a clean up weekend. Scott worked so I worked on my part of the hobbyroom.Ya know how you can have things in a "neat" pile and all of a sudden something happens and you have an avalanche? I just do not understand how that happend, I mean after all the pile was only about 2 foot high and had books, material and a plastic bag or 2 in it! So I can now see the top of the sewing machine, most of the counter here and the floor in front of all of this is almost there. Actually the floor will be done as soon as I put up some of the small containers that are used like when I'm going somewhere and need small containers with handles on them.....thank you Rubbermaid and Sterilite.
I had also picked up some other beads and things for embellishments so found homes for them. My mom had given us some small glass bottles, you know the ones that you get when you get a gift with several different jellies in them......hey it works. Now that I have a surface to work on again I hope to begin a couple of projects, and how fast they get done or how much they get worked on will depend on how this spell fibromyalgia continues this time. Right now I have it switching sides, it use to bother just my left sidebut now it is beginning in the right side, starting as the otherside did in the neck and shoulder.

A really good day on Friday
Friday has been a very good day, Scotts parents came down from up north and took us out to lunch. We always have such a good time and get caught up on the news on them,Grma and Uncle Alan and Aunt Susan. We went back to our place so we could quickly show them some things like my Tea Totes I'd recieved and my Magic Wands.
While we were there my daughter Brie called and wanted to know if i wanted to go with her to the Nelson Art Gallery downtown on the Plaza. So she came by, it had been awhile since she'd seen "Grma and Grpa Wood" and they were glad to get a chance to see her and talk to her. We talked about helping Grpa with his computer that he went ahead and bought the part for and needs installed.
Brie and I left and went downtown at the same time they left, so it worked out great. It has been a couple years since i've been down to the Nelson and BOY HAVE THERE BEEN SOME CHANGES!!! They have really built on and they have an awesome parking garage....the skylights for the garage are actually in the large shallow pool out front of the Nelson......it is so cool to look up down in the garage knowing where they are located and see the water ripple!! It is also neat to look out over the pool and see the light areas knowing they are giving light down in the garage.
They are constanly changing the exhibits around adding new things and sometimes just bringing back some old things. My Aunt Evelyn tells me that if I ever see a small pic of a bunny with her name on it to ask if she can have it back!! When she was a little girl they use to exhibit a lot of the kids pictures from the schools and nearly all of the kids in her class got theirs back but she never did. It would be funny if it was still there some place after all these years.....that prob would have been upper 60's or early 70's years ago!!
After I got home I went on to Walmart and Michaels and picked up Wonder Under and PelTex, some lace and things like that till I used up the last of the Christmas money for this year. We'd just not been in any hurry, we knew it would be needed for something useful and this was it!!
Bedtime again.....Meds are kicking in.....Night all!!

Can't believe it's been this long ago!!
Last week was a long and rough week. My husband was sick all week and home from work. You know I have no problems with people smoking if that is what they want to do.......but what does one do if they are allergic to cigarette smoke and it seeps into YOUR apartment from others apartments. The management is going to try to seal off our door area but this all seems to come up from the area around the furnace closet and the hotwater heater closet. But that is what happened and Scott was very ill all alst week with sinus problems and bleedingway up in his sinuses. He had to go on Antibiotics and one of the more exspensive sinus meds that we just can not afford to keep going. He went back to work this week and they switched his hours some and he is working days some and will be working on the weekend, makes it hard to plan when they keep messing with the schedule!!
I've gotten in both of my Fairie Wands......I'll try to get a pic of them soon and I've gotten all of my Tea Totes except 2 of them in the Tea Tote Swap in Fiber Art Traders. I just love all the different ways everyone has made their own patterns and all the different colors and materials and even fastening ideas they have used with this idea,Very creative group. My own daughter talked to me and wants me to make her and 2 of her co-workers ones like I made. That is a compliment when Your own daughter wants one, sure makes me feel good. Here is a pic of the ones I made

I've also been working on trying to relax a little more, this not going to bed until super late because I can't get the body to settle from spasms is getting very old!! So I am trying todo a little more relaxing by reading, and forcing myself to just relax some of the muscles that I know are involved during the day. Another thing I enjoy is playing with my little inside rock garden. Some of the things were mine and some came from my Grandma Coen's collection. Her and I had a lot of this type of things in common, the Gnome was her and she kept him in a Terrarium that I had given her for Christmas one year. I felt he needed to oversee my Rock Garden.

Okay, guess it is about time to try to get some sleep....maybe tomorrow I can get more done on the sewing.

This is Baby Bubbybird
A dear friend Normajean Brevik saw this and thought it looked like my Bubbybird logo and made it and sent it to me a Baby Bubbybird. That is who it shall remain Baby Bubbybird.Meet the Grans
The last 2 days have been very full.....not enough sleep, too much pain, then sleep when I'd rather be up doing things!! The Tea Totes were all in envelopes, Bubbybird cards put inside and sealed before going to be last night, also the Majic Wands were all in their tubes, addressed and ready to go out in the mail this morning. Of course after not feeling sleepy again last night and finally going to bed late when the alarm rang at 9AM I was beginning to sleep real goof.....why does that happen?? But got on up and got eveything together went to Post Office got everything tagged and weighted and off they went.
Then I went to Walmart and bought us a new set of sheets for the bed, we still hadn't used the gift card Scotts partent had given us for Christmas, so bought the sheets, also extra pillow cases and a ream of cardstock to use with the printer. Still have $8 and change left over!! Picked up some groceries and came on in. Was working on my emails when Brie called and wanted me to go with her to Blue Springs to a friends used book shop. The friend Beth had just recently bought in to the shop and we wanted to go and encourage also see what we could find. It just so happened that it was Beth's Saturday so we got to see her and Brie gave her a couple ideas she has seen cause believe me my daughter has a nose for used book stores.....if one is near .....SHE WILL FIND IT!!
I thought I should be a good Nana/Grandma and introduce my 3 grans that live close. Don't have a recent pic of the oldest one, nor has his mother seen fit to keep in touch with any of us.....just takes the child support!!
The oldes of the 3 here is Jerrica and she is 3yrs old at this time. She is long and lean like her daddy!!

Then there is Julie.....what do you say about our "Jewels" she is going to be a handful.....very stubborn, she already gets Jerrica down and sits on her when she is tired of Jerrica trying to push her around!! Julie is 2 and in a pair of shorts, tank top, white tennis shoes and socks she'd make a good model for the "sport girl". oh and add the curly blond hair that goes into a ponytail up high and has the little curls hanging down all around......when she will leave it up!! Usually just as soon as their mom gets out of site both girls reach up and pull their hair out of hairbands and rub their heads and sigh.

Then there is our little man Mikey....he is a go getter. He loves for you to tell him he can't do something......you know the routine....WATCH ME!!!! He will be a year old the first day of February!!Of course his favorite word at the top of his lungs is Dadadada until his daddy asks him what then he grins and acts shy!! WOW my son has 3 kids just like he was!!!

The soon to be newest members of our Family

Scott and I are both very thankful that we cannot have children at our age, neither of us can take much of the noise!! We make better grandparents at this age, we love our Grandkids but are very glad when it's time for them to go home!! Don't get us wrong if it ever comes to the point that we have to step up and help raise them.....WE WILL!! God will do the same as He is doing right now.....one day at a time He is providing!!
However, I jokingly have told Scott to expect the pitter patter of feet?? around as I can get them made up and these will become our children. So far I only have Jewells pattern and will get the other 2 in the next month or so as I can. Jewell is the baby troll, Gaylin is the baby Gargoyl and the twins are Judsi and Yopu and they are cave trolls. Aren't they cute? Now tell me aren't they the kind of a thing only a MOM could love!!hehehe
Another day....
I haven't accomplished much today as far as sewing is concerned. I once again found some more material to look thru and try to decide on a plan for the Monthly Fairie Godess. Maybe a step closer on that!! I had a lot of emails to go thru as I had left a lot last night .....BUT....I got some good sound sleep last night, very muchly needed!!
Scott dosen't usually go in until 3pm on Wed, so spent as much time as possible with him....mostly talking while we worked on hobbies and then while we sat in our room looking at his On30 Railroad things. He has done such a good job on them and when we took pics of his stuff on Sunday we had our first sighting of our resident Pixies in Period costumes. It was very cool to spot them there at the passenger station.
Today I got some pics taken and my daughter took the camera home to download the pics for me, I'll go over to her place tomorrow when I check mail to put them on my jump drive and see if I got any of the pictures of my rock garden to share or not.
I recieved 3 of the 10 Tea Totes I signed up to make and recieve in a swap on Fiber Art Traders. It is so neat to see each of the different ideas and the way everyone has made their own patterns for this swap. I also had a suprise that my daughter Brie told me she really liked the way mine turned out and would i make her one and one for a colleague at work.......of course I said yes!! So will try to do that this weekend, I guess classes start out at the college next week and she will be busy and won't see much of her for a couple weeks if everything goes as usual. She will be taking a couple classes this time as well as working out there this semester. One of the classes will be in her own lab....the computer Art lab. At least if there is a problem she will be there to fix it!!
Well, tonight is short, it is bed time for me, I want to get my Heart foundation wall hanging started tomorrow.....if things go right it should get most of the way done tomorrow I hope!! Hands and arms, don't fail me now!!hehehe

Things work a lot better when you've had sleep!!
I did not sleep last night, I'm sure it was the storm coming in for one thing. Even with the pain pills and muscle relaxers I'd taken just could not get comfortable and of course about the time this morning when i was sleeping really good was when my husband Scott wanted to talk to me!! Oh well, that is the way it happens some days!! I got on up and have made myself stay up so hopefully I can sleep tonight, I've already had meds and hopefully what I'm feeling IS the meds taking hold and sleep IS on it's way.
I went thru several things today looking for some other material that I knew I had to make wings, have ideas for the Goddess of the month now and think I have a plan for the Day dreamer Fairie now. I have all of the Tea totes ready to go in envelopes but realised we have exactly 2 envelopes to our names.....we had planned to get the tomorrow when Scott gets paid but he was informed that the company that was doing their checks was making major mistakes so they have changes companies.....therefore checks will be in on Thursday.....they hope...instead of Wed, as planned!! I hate it when they mess with my plans!!
I wish it was still just my left side that was the painful side but the fibro is now progressing into the right.....so have been in a lot of pain today and have tried to get along without the pain meds as much as possible as it makes me so sleepy.....except at night when I really need it to!!Had to finally put the thumb brace on the left hand to stop the aching thru out the wrist , palm and up into the thumb area. It was bad enough it had caused me to loose grip on my glass of pop and spill it on the floor. I'm okay with the pain but when things like that happens it makes me angry because I have always had control issues and it means i am losing contol and I hate that!!!!!
My son is an electrician and he is planning to come in and replace all of our plugs as the 2 that the apartments replaces literally fell apart in their hands when they tried to take them apart. We'd have the maintenence here do it but everytime that guy enters our apartment we have dirt everywhere. He has no respect for other peoples carpets or anything......we had to literally lysol the tub last time he fixed the shower as he left terrible crude all over the bathtub as well as the floor!!What a mess, we were not happy campers! My son, Rusty has already pointed out some code violations but then when was the last time these apartments have seen an electrician?? I know the Apartments have been sold twice since we moved in back in 2000.....this time it is an individual who owns them and not a company like before.
Okay, I'm leaving a real mess between the computer and the sewing machine but ya know.....it will be there tomorrow to clean up and maybe I will get caught up on posts and get some sewing done too!! It is bedtime and that is where I am heading, maybe I can get to sleep before Scott starts snoring.....then i can stay asleep usually.
l8r all!!

First Post
Today I am jumping into something new for me but maybe it is something that will help me as I go along. I need to learn to be a little bit more bolder and open, but not to the point of spilling my gutts to everyone. I need to learn to express myself through word and through the art which I have inside of me.
I've always had a liking for the fantacy world, faries, trolls, pixies, dragons, gargoyls and things like this. I have joined a few online groups that are allowing and encouraging me to express myself through this avenue.
Wee Village http://www.future-heirlooms.com/
FairieGoddessMothers www.lindampoole.com
Sundrop Design http://www.sundropdesigns.com
and then the group that includes this as well as other things is
Fiber Art Traders FiberArtTraders@yahoogroups.com
We just recently made Magic Wands with this group....Wow some wonderful talent in here. I really enjoy the "FAMILY" I feel with each of these groups. We share, we laugh, we cry, we worry about each other, we send out snail mail as well as emails to try to comfort and help each other along. Sometimes the families you pick are closer to you than the families you are born with!!
Okay enough for tonight need to begin to come down and get some sleep, Possible some snow tomorrow.
