Busy Week ahead!

This next week is going to be busy between Scott and I and our appointments.
I have dr appointments almost all day tomorrow so I can have surgery on the 9th on my knee.....total knee replacement.Have appointments with Family Dr at 10 on Wed and an appointment with Counselor at 1:15 but even before my appointments Scott has a colonoscopy Wed morn at 7AM. Scott has counselors appt on Tues.. We have a train club meeting on Thurs evening and somewhere inbetween all of this I am going to get my house cleaned......right?!

Scott's cat Grumman seems to be really feeling the weather change this last week, you can tell he is hurting but when I come over he gets excited and tries to be full of energy. So I try to do games with him where neither of us has to put out to much energy and it keeps him satisfied. You know something isn't right when he dosen't leap for the paper balls thrown up in the air.....poor guy. Poor guy we are just thankful we were able to work with him and keep the bad leg and hope he is happy living with Scott.

Grumman was over to my place one or 2 days a week or so ago and got re-aquainted with the girls. Last time he'd been with the girls they were still little and young and I'm sure it was a shock to him to see them now. Momo and Grumman were working on their relationship and getting it back to where it was but Smokey Jo was wanting nothing to do with Grumman. Grumman also had to learn you don't try to hold Momo down like he use to as she dosen't like to be held still. Momo is one of those cats that to say she is a VERY active cat is not enough....no doubt in our minds she is ADHD!!

Okay, today is the day to go to the back bedroom and work. At some point Scott is suppose to come over and help me glue down the foam to the train board, so we can get the track glued down also. Want to work on train stuff this winter. He got his foam down yesterday and now he can begin to get his train board set up.

Foot doctors visit

Well had another foot dr visit today....it has been 3 months since I had the toes done and they still haven't healed all the way. They took x-rays and decided the toes are trying to fuse but for some reason the one toes next to the big toe isn't healing completely and is very sore. They took the cartilage out and so it is bone fusing to bone......this toe was very crooked and the hammer toe of it was bad.

The doc wants to give it another 2 months and then if things aren't better he will shoot it with cortisone!! Grrrrrr.....we talked about the fact that my body keeps being so low of Vitamin D, which I take Vit D pills as well as the D that is in with my Calcium and still it is low. Of course it has to do with healing ......Grrrrr!! Suppose to watch the long walks and not take as many and keep trying to put my foot up while sitting . He also put a metal plate in the bottom of my shoe to keep me from bending my toes so much.

Don't need any more stress!!

Been pretty out of it ....

the last couple days and over the weekend didn't go anywhere ......just have slept. I went downstairs tonight and watched the NCIS Shows and also clicked over to see how the Dancing with the stars was going. NCIS was better!!

The Urologist I saw believes as I have that I never fully got over the last kidney infection as I kept having so much trouble with low grade fevers so much. So will see the dr again in 2 weeks and will continue to take antibiotic until they believe I am fully over this. He told me not to be in too big of a hurry as the whole process might take a month or 2. Haven't had to take any pain pills for that today, but still taking pain pills for the arthur and still some for the toes some. Go see toe dr first of the month I believe and will see what he has to say. All the toes except the second one are doing great but the second one is bowing up some like it was before operation.....he wasn't very happy with that happening like it did.

Quick note

It is 6AM and am getting ready to catch the OATS bus for Columbia for Dr appointment in Urology. Very frustrated right now, apparently I also have a packed colon and have taken 2 bottles of Magnesium Citrate to try to move it all but no such luck......hopefully it won't happen on the way to the Dr. Think I will question them today and see about a GI Dr since that seems to be a problem also. I know I've had upper scopes with the gastric bypass but been a while since I've had a lower one.
Just one day at a TIME!!

Hurting but hanging in there!

I have an appointment on Friday at 8AM at the Urologist. They say there is a spot on my right kidney they want to look into. I know it hurts and am taking tylenol and ibuprofen alternatly to help keep pain under control. Hoping not to get too much tylenol in my system that way. Have a call into my regular Dr to see about my vicodin refill until at least Friday. I was told to also keep the fluids going......how can I add to many more fluids as I am always drinking anyway. I do know after the IV yesterday the pain was less so am going to try to keep things going here.

As God allows I will continue to go downastairs to be available to others as we have so many hurting here right now. For those who don't know God has given me a ministry here in our building and calls me downstairs and usually sends someone in need of just having someone to listen to them....I figure if he calls me down he will also give me the strength to be there.

Just pray is all I can ask right now.

She's got a bigtime kidney infection or something - is this moment letting Docs figure it out.
She's pretty sick.

Kitties are already missing MamaKat being herself, they know something ain't right.

So please do send her prayers; positive energy; you know, all that good stuff; Chinese take out; half a dozen five-hundred dollar bills; and, a second-hand long-bed GMC 4x4 would go over well too.

So much going on.

Well, wish I could say this last week was without incident.....but that would be a lie and I try hard not to lie to anyone!!
Truth is I feel last Thursday out front, was getting my groceries off the Katy Flyer Bus, I backed up and caught my heel on a brick in the road and down I went. Knew I'd be better off just relaxing when I realised I couldn't catch myself, so fell on my right side mostly.

I have a bruise on my arm, one on my knee and one on my hip. The one on my knee was from trying to get up, I had to reverse the way I usually push up and push up with my left side due to the toes still swollen and sore some. Not any power on the left side to speak of so if after the second try the bus driver hadn't thought to grab my belt loops to help pull when I was pushing up not sure how i would have gotten up.

I am sore no doubt about that but now my hip on the left side is hurting a lot so have an appointment with hip and knee Dr to make sure everything is okay. I also need to see about possible a cortisone shot in the knee again so it will last till I can have it replaced in a few months. Hopefully before winter set in.

Today the guys with the window company are here.....it has taken then from 8AM till 10:30 just to get the windows out in the one room......they are currently on a break apparently so let the kittens out so they can move around. The carrier I have is terrible small for the 2 cats but it is all I have currently. Will need to buy something when and if my other money ever gets here.Figure they will have to knock when they come back and will need to put the guys (uh, girls, as it turns out) back into their cage......which I just had to do.

Yes I know I have ugly feet but......

he they are the only ones I have and with genetics like it is I have not much choice but for them to look like they do. That is why I am having work done on them. The foot that was operated on was much worse than the other with the curling toes. I walked on the tips of my toes because they were so bent over, that is why I have such callouses on the tips of my toes on the foot operated on.
Maybe by posting this someone else might see the need to get things caught up on their feet.

Knew it had to happen sometime.....

my MoMo learned to jump upon the cabinet and into the sink in the bathroom. Since this picture was taken, Smokey has accomplished it also and now my scrunchies for my hair have been moved........it was either move them or loose them cause they are one of MoMo's favorite things of mine to run off with.

I'm sure glad she is enjoying taking his bath in the sink ....I got very tired of it and had my first long shower today and the baby oil treatment after wards......go me!! So glad the sores are healing on my foot.

Behind again

Well got behind again on posting as I've had to spend my time with my foot up to reduce the swelling in my foot and toes. Still suppose to keep it up as much as possible but it is getting a lot better. Last week had the stitches removed and then yesterday had the pins removed from toes.......didn't really hurt like I was afraid it would. The Doc had them pulled before I knew it and tomorrow I can take a real honest to goodness shower!! YAY!! Been doing make shift showers and baths and my skin is so dry now. Tomorrow plan to use baby oil to help skin look better again and I'm sure my hair will appreciate a GOOD wash. Here is a pic after stitches came out.....

Also had a wonderful suprise last Sunday. My niece her husband and my great nephew were in town in Kansas City from Alaska and it didn't look like I was going to get to see them, BUT..... they stopped by for a few minutes as they were heading thru on their way to Bob Jones for a conference. By brother Paul and his wife were takeing them down and were watching their first grandbaby while the parents were in the conference. As soon as the kids get back home they will send me a pic of me holding Baby Daniel and am looking forward to seeing it. This was the first time I'd seen him or held him and was so greatful for being able to do so! Here is a pic or 2 of them in other situations so you can see what a wonderful family they all make.

This last week

Well got a bit behind as I have had to spend more time either in the recliner or in bed to try to keep the swelling down more on my foot. I ended up going to the Dr. with my foot on Wed and having all the old bandages removed. Apparently there had been much more drainage then we were seeing from the outside and even the nurse was surprised how much was there when she began to cut away the bandages. There was a lot of swelling but I personally think that was due to the ride to the Dr more than anything, but that is a whole different story. It was also pretty red on my toes so the dr sent me home with 2 weeks of Bactrim antibiotic and instructions again to become a couch potato. I had also knocked on of the pins out of the toenext to the small toe.....still not sure how that happened unless I did it in my sleep. So now I don't go back to him till the 30th of the month early in the morning and have a ride scheduled already for that. It feels a lot better and the swelling is down a lot!!

Things happen around here when mom is on pain meds.....

Just had a good visit with my daughter on the phone. Brie is doing good and recently got another raise where she works. She was having a rough day and just needed to talk to her mommy. She was at Walmart getting a new pair of sandals and then she got food and went back to the office to finish up work.



These are pics of what happens when mom is stoned out on pain meds and the kitties find where the toilet paper is being stashed now that mom won't put it on the holder any more.........this is the very reason why mom has hidden it to begin with!! Of course the bathroom was their free room that they stayed in after they were too big for the container we had them while bottle feeding them. To me it stands to reason why this is a play room for them now.

I wish I was going to be able to attend my best friends court time tomorrow but due to the resent surgery I won't be able to and will have to wait to see the out come of it when someone finally lets me know. I am pretty sad about it all today as I love my best friend and want to be there for him when I am allowed to.

I am doing real good with my foot so far. I do wonder if the dried stuff isn't what I'm feeling maybe rubbing in a place or two. If it dosen't back off in a day or two I will need to call my dr office and see what needs to be done. Even when I go down stairs to just get out of the apartment I take my pillow and prop my foot up. One day at a time is all I can do for now.

Better now.....

Well finally got a hold of my Aunt who is taking me on Tuesday so feel better about everything. Have time frames and all worked out, sometimes it just has to have a plan to ease the stress.

I actually was watching Golf today on tv......oh no I've turned into my grma! Just joking on that, Grandma Coen use to watch golf when she was pretty much house bound because of here feet and legs. But others down stairs had the tv when I got down there and were watching the Tiger Woods golf tournament so watched it with them. Then I watched Delta Farce with Larry the Cable Guy in it. Have seen it before as my son Rusty has it and love the way it is done.

A bit frustrated today.....

Somehow last week I blew it and didn't get the call made to the Oats bus for transportation for Tuesday. I really can't believe I did that, so much else has fallen into place but somehow that escaped me. If my Aunt can't come and get me to take me to the hospital I will have to reschedule the surgery and that is also frustrating. I'm use to having a car to be able to go when I need to but without my best friend......

I did go ahead and walk a bit today, while I was out went by the bread store and got another loaf of bread. Mildred my friend wasn't home when I went by her place so may not get to see her for awhile since I can't walk over there if I have surgery on my foot. I will miss our chats for a few weeks.

My sister was here with her husband Tim and my niece Michele. We had a good visit and my kitties behaved them selves wonderfully. They weren't constantly in our faces and bother some, they actually went off and slept for awhile. At the end I did pull out some of their toys out of my bedroom and they played where the family could see how much fun they are. My sister also brought me a present of another cat.....



This one I don't have to feed or potty train!! By the way the tissue it came in has been recycled.....the kitties loved every bit of attacking it and playing with it. Of course I am now going through the house picking up a piece here and there but the truth is I gave it to them to play with. Well it was either that or get my hand taken off, after all it makes noise!!

Life

Some days it seems that the things around me are trying to push me in another direction and as a Christian I know that some of those are of God and some are of the devil who is always trying to bring me down. How to know which is which some days can get me down and when those days kick in I try to use this reasoning......if it is of God it will not go against what I have learned in the scriptures, otherwise I then have to believe it is of satan.

The key to this is being in the scriptures(I need to be there more) and talking to God on a regular bases. I have also added to this by listening to my Christian music more and being open to God talking to me through the words. You can't base your life on what other people who call themselves christians as many are not in the place where they need to be either, it has to be a one on one with the Lord on and hourly bases if that is what is needed. Some days it is a minute by minute time with the Lord and I have had a lot more of those lately......and yes I have doubted God and his word more times then I'd like to admit. But the one thing I always know is that God is there waiting for me to turn back to Him and His love and tender mercies.

Busy week this week.....

Well, the last 2 days have been long and busy but have gotten eveything set up so I can have surgery on my right foot come next Tuesday, July 7th. I will go tomorrow on the local bus to go get my laundry done and caught up and then hopefully I will be able to go to the store and Walmart on the 6th and have that all taken care of also. I have a couple of friends that will kick in and help me with that if one or the other can't.

Todays Dr appointment was a good one. I am soon to be 2 yrs out on the gastric by pass surgery. Had a positive visit and then they are now having a "reminder class" for those who have had the surgery. Reminding us of what we need to do to maintain the weight loss and so forth. I saw a guy today that I had seen at the clinic before he had his surgery, never knew how much he weighted till today......he weighted 468 lbs a year ago yesterday when he had his surgery and he in down on the 270's some where today......He looked fantastic!! AND he is going back to work this Monday and getting off of disability!! He works a prison and is looking forward to getting back to work and keeping busy again. I think the class did do me some good and I am greatful for them having this. Next year on July7th I will have me 3 yr check up and hopefully I will see that he has lostthe rest of the weight and I will have lost some more also.

As we went over the Missouri River on the I-70 bridge yesterday and today a dredging boat was busy so took a pic of that from the OATS bus window. I tried to get some pics of all the white egrets but they are on the other side of the road and when we came back, couldn't find but 1 or 2 and they were far enough away couldn't get a good shot.

Had the windows open all night and all morning, just shut them and turned on the air about half hour ago.....it was 82 in the apartment so decided it was getting time to turn it on.

I had a bit of a break thru today for me anyway. My best friends lawyer did contact me and let me know finally what was going on and I in return agreed to take something he is sending me to a notary and sign it and send it back to have in the records. I want to help stop this all from happening in anyway I can. So sad the way things happens when you think something has been taken care of and then the state can come in behind your back and push action. Don't they have enough to do already?

My sister sent me an email today asking about stoping by on their way thru to see the folks. I'm glad they are coming by and I will get to see them. If I had a vehichele I could go there but since I don't I will at least get to see them this way.

I also talked to my mom for a few minutes today filling her in on things here and again assuring her I will be okay cause God is in control of all of this including me and the things I need to do. It is hard on her with me being so far away and them not being able to make the trip here but God has assured me He will take care of it all in His time and in His place.

Today

While resting and cooling off thought I'd add to my blog. I finally was able to get in a walk today, the wind is stirring and the breeze felt good. It was a long walk but I took my time and went slowly, however I will pay for it tonight and probably tomorrow.

Have needed to go to the store and had put out fellers letting people know if they were going and didn't mind a rider I'd like to hear from them but that didn't work. Soooo when you are out of bread, milk and almost to the end of the cat food you do what ever you can. I am glad I waited till today and didn't go out in the unreal humidity of this last week.

Again this year I missed out on Heritage Days here in Boonville, because of the heat. One of these days I would love to go and see the booths and things going on up town during these fun days.

Today as I left on my walk I heard the ambulances coming this way and as I rounded the building I saw why.......a young boy lay on the ground in front of a car here at the corner of our building, his bike just under the bumper of the car at the stop sign. My heart went out to all involved, he couldn't have been more than 8 or 9 yrs old.He was awake and showing the guys where it hurt so I crossed the road and prayed for them all as I went on.

As I went to the store I went through the residential streets and stopped by to see my friend Mildred. She was doing pretty good now, especially now that her air conditioner was fixed. She had had some pretty miserable days during last week when the humidity was so high but the landlord got the thing fixed on Friday and it was nice feeling in there today.

Storms

Well......we just had one dozy of a storm take it's time going thru. Lots of lightning and rain, some hail but it knocked out our lights this time for almost 2 hours......will have to go thru tomorrow and reset clocks, have 2 battery clocks so I'll be okay till then.

Meds are kicking in so off to bed for now.

Well as you can see Mighty Mo has discovered the whirling water in the toilet when it is flushed. Then the next thing is that the babies have discovered the window in the bathroom and as you can tell in the one that looks like poor Mo is up chucking, the toilet paper has been removed......cause I can't afford for them to have fun anymore with a whole roll!! TP is too important and cost to much to waste and I don't get Sears or Montgomery Ward catalogues anymore. No thanks, don't want anyones old catalogues, I'll just try to keep the TP out of their reach for now.

I go to the Doctors on the 30th to talk about my surgery on my feet on the 7th of July. Please pray that all goes well and that not having someone there with me, for the surgery/procedure, is not a problem. I have people to help me when I get home and can get a ride there thru the services I use at other times. I will work all of that out hopefully when I go in on the 30th. For those who don't know I am having my toes on my right foot worked on to straighten them out and to take care of the bunion and straighten my big toes also.
Okay back to working on things now......

Not one of my better nights

Tonight is not one of my better night........can't sleep, just can't get the brain to turn off tonight and the meds aren't kicking in. Also having the leg spasms/cramps I get some days with this restless leg syndrome. I know some of it is standing in one place for so long today when the cats and the dog met......was afraid to sit down till knew all was well with them all. Took some Ibuprofen and we will see if that helps any.

I had had a TV given to me that was a large TV but some one had pulled the thing you hook the cable to in the back out. I was able to hook my DVD player to it but just decided it was going to cost too much to fix it, so gave it to a friend of ours named Bobby. Bobby is Skitzophrenic and dosen't do a whole lot but he does like to play games on his machine so this way he can have a bigger picture for it. He was really happy about the whole thing and I was just glad to get something that was really too big for me to handle out of here. Maybe one of these days I'll be able to get me a different one. For now I have 2 smaller TV's and honestly, even with these new boxes can't get much of anything in on these antennas.

I've had a rough day today anyway as I can't stop thinking how miserable my best friend is and how I can't be there to put my arms around him and hold him. I've read some writings he has been doing on his other blog and the ones that seem so dark just make me cry cause I can't kiss it and make it better.I want him to be happy or as happy as one can be in the time in the world. If I thought walking away completely and never seeing him again would do this I would do it in a heart beat! But I know how he was before we got together and I don't see him being better off if I was to leave. Time will tell how things will come out I guess.

New experience for the kitties

The kittens met a dog for the first time today.....Autumn the dog lives in our building and loves cats and actually the kittens didn't do to bad with Autumn either. There were some hunched backs at first but unless Autumn got excited and barked they began to move closer and sniff her out.

I figured it would be mighty Mo, my mighty brave little boy who would be first to make up but actually it was Smokey first and Mo Stayed back against me. What a switch, when Grumman Kitty was coming over Smokey would not have much to do with G-man unless he had to and Mo was all over him especially in the game of tag. Oh well will be interesting to see how these guys develope.

Here they are now all worn out!!


Mo does have a beginning and and end somewhere in here!! This is also their favorite places to rest during the day.

Working on buildings

Okay, went back to bed after the critters were worn down and feel some better now. Can at least think a bit clearer and am in the process of eating my lunch and that will help also.

Spent yesterday evening working on cutting down some shingles I had gotten at Hobby Lobby in the doll house section to fit my HO building I have been making. It will take a while to get them cut down cause they are a bit tougher than I expected them to be. Have a few that are warped so they want to break uneven, will keep them and may need to piece some around the edges. Each shingle will be cut in half length wise then width wise and should be able to get about 4 shingles out of each piece.......I hope that will work!!

Need to desperately to dust in the extra room as some point this week too. Trying to get everything ready in hopes that I can go ahead and have the surgery on my right foot on the 7th of July.

Pushing Buttons

You know those days when it just seems like your little ones are out to push every button just right? Well, animals can do that too, especially if you have raised them from the day after their eyes have opened and you are the only mommy they have ever known. Then all of a sudden they come up to you and look you in the eyes and purr saying they are sorry and just want to snuggle.

I have fussed at Mighty Mouth all night and so far this morning, chasing him out of things with the water bottle. Right now.....he is sitting on my lap all curled up and asleep. There are times when I think what am I doing, the last thing I need is an animal and then when they come up out of no where and rub and purr, I remember why I have animals in my life as all they really want is to love us unconditionally!! I need that right now, well I said unconditionally but actually they do have a couple three conditions.......food, water and litter box cleaned out at least every other day if not every day. Do you realise how much of a mess 2 kittens can leave in a litter box?

Life stinks some days

Having a rough day yesterday and today. My best friend is hurting and there is nothing at all I can do about it. On days like this the human part of me cries out and asks God if He is really there. I'm so tired of hurting physically and emotionally. (By the way yes I know that God is real and is there and has a plan for all of this.)

Last year I had a problem and felt I needed to take an action that was right for my survival, later I dropped the action and thought it was all over. However, the state decided they needed to pursue it and even though we had made the arrangements that was needed and things were going great......it now has but up a major problem and my best friend can't have any contact with me which is tearing me apart. We were separate for our 4th anniversary and now I have missed fathers day and yesterday was his birthday.

Well, I'm back and on a funny note as I was typing there was a terrible crash in the kitchen, have been having trouble with kittens going through the window between dinning room area and kitchen and getting on the cabinets. Well, Smokey may not be doing that for awhile but then you know kittens are always curious. Wish I could have gotten a pic of Smokey with the watering can stuck on his head but felt it was more important to get him free so he didn't get hurt or nothing got broken. The can was about half full so you can imagine the mess on the floor and the cat!The pics at the top are after I used a towel on him as he was dripping and I didn't want him to get on the computer either.

On top of everything I have no idea how my best friend is physically......I get an idea how he is mentally by reading his blog and his posts on ASBO . I know he isn't real strong when under the stress he is under currently but there isn't a thing I can do to help out. For awhile I knew he wasn't blaming me for what happened but not so sure of that anymore and that hurts a lot. I did what I had to to survive and then I tried to undo it and did......we were getting along so well after he got his own place to live and then we could be together as we needed to be. Life was getting better and then the state stepped in and messed it all up for us!! I'm angry, I'm frustrated, I'm hurting and so is he and there isn't a damn thing I can do about any of it!!

Are these the same little ones who use fit under my chin to sleep? Now I can barely hold them at the same time.

Another Kidney infection?

Well another 10 days of the antibiotic Bactrim. Had to make a quick visit to the dr office and have me checked out. Somewhere along the way I have had the aches all over, a fever, headache and etc...... The test didn't definetly say I had another kidney infection but the symptoms were heading that diection, the dr did say there was an infection some where and my urine test said something was going on but didn't definetly say kidney or uti either.

Thank goodness my neighbor Elaine was up early on Friday and was able to get me there on time. The pain was on my right side this time but in the same area as last time. I also had a fever of 101 by the time I got to the dr.

So the babies and I spent all day Friday and most of the day Sat. Sleeping to keep the pain down and hopefully get better. So tonight they are like tornados going thru my house.....will have to clean house again tomorrow or Monday depending how I feel.

The days have been long

The days have been long without my best friend around. I miss the contact with him right now. I have to just take one day at a time and hope it all works out for the good.

I had to buy the kittens Iams this time and had enough of the Science Diet to mix in with what I got......I can get the Iams at the grocery store where I can't get out to get the other stuff every time I need it. I think the coats on the kittens is shinier and I think maybe they aren't scratching as much. I think they had dry skin from the air conditioner is what was happening. They don't care just so they get food right now!!hehehe

Several weeks back Mighty Mo had taken the little "cat toy" off of the plastic stick it was on and now he carries it all over the place, anytime ya hear a small bell ringing.....no another angel dosen't get it's wings......but usually Might Mo will show up with this toy to play. He has been bringing it up on the bed to me to play and that wouldn't be so bad except why does it have to be 3 in the AM he wants to play?? Oh well, at least the car racing track has stopped for now at that time of the morning....of course if I get tired of playing the game I just toss it thru my bedroom door for them to chase and there are enough other toys out there that usually they get busy doing something else and I can go back to sleep. I love my kitties!!

Guess things around the building here are changing some. Someone called the home office and filled them in on the problems around here and some changes have been made. One of the things that changed today was that our grounds person, who was also the managers husband, was apparently turned in as being an illegal from England, so he was fired today. Oh dear!! There goes my computer guy from the building also. He is a very nice person and will hate to see something happen to him.

Long walk

I took a long walk yesterday, Friday, and did real well all through the walk. Even stopped by to see my friend Mildred and check on her. However, coming down the hill from up town to my building I began to hurt all over, thought for awhile it was just going to be my new hip but it began to spread all over my body. When I got in the building I stopped down in the commons room and tried to watch tv and rest a bit. Two of my friends came in and we talked for awhile but I just kept getting worse. I finally got up and headed upstairs with the idea of taking a warm shower and then laying down but that idea was changed as I had to take some strong pain meds and lay down to be able to get on top of it all.

It wasn't the flu but was flu like symptoms so decided it must have been Fibromyalgia hitting me hard. I even chilled and ran a low grade fever, will need to watch this close in case there is still an infection some where, don't need it to settle in the new hip area!! It even has my carpal tunnel acting up, it hurt from my elbow clear into the palm of my hands and a few choice fingers. Both kittens seemed to know something was wrong and stayed by my side most of the evening.

Again today had a lot of the same things happening. Did go downstairs for awhile watched the end of the ST Louis game and then found the college baseball world series games at Omaha....when I left that LSU was ahead. Still feeling bad and the cats are about to tare me apart as they are in jumping stage and they are leaving marks all over me......of course that hurts more today cause I feel so bad anyway!! Grrrr

Fighting depression a lot lately doesn't help either!! That was the reason for the walk in the first place. Oh well, life shall go on and so shall I......or not and my favorite quote for that is......"heaven? Go ahead and threaten me with Heaven!"

Lightning Bug

Last night the kittens discovered a lightning bug in the room. I had so much fun watching them as they kept trying to find it after it would fly away. Lightning bugs have a smell to them so the kittens wouldn't bite it but they did try to catch it several times but as soon as they got their nose close they would sneeze!!

The 2 pics with Smokey looking down off the bed was when the poor bug was knocked to the floor and disappeared......Smokey found it once because of the light it put off but then it was gone. My favorite is of Might Mo looking down on top of the lamp as he had seen the bug up in the light several times during the evening.

This all happened after midnight so you know the babies were very wild for the next hour or so. They finally did settle around 2AM or so and we finally got to sleep. But they were back at the crazies around 6AM and I just nestled down in the blankets and let them do their race track routine all over the bed till one of them came and began to purr and tried to snuggle. Wasn't long till the other one was up to snuggle too ......then I slept till almost 10AM, then got up and got busy.

I love these guys and they have been a life saviour for me. There certainly is a lot going on with them around.

Junior Got Lost - The Adventures of Junior the Giraffe

Went into University of Missouri Hospital's Emergency Room Friday night with intense abdominal pain. Turned out to have kidney infection - which wasn't found on trip to Cooper County Memorial Hospital ER the night before.

Scott decided that this time we're going to MU. Ambulance took me while he gathered up some things, including Junior, who's been my comfort through my surgeries.

When we left ER around 7PM Scott was so tired and I was tired and we forgot all about Junior even though he'd been my pillow!

Today I had an appointment in Columbia with hip replacement doctor so after that we went by MU ER and there Junior was!
He's home!

Well, it is the day before my birthday and things are going okay for now. Got a card from my daughter last week when she sent her dads out she sent mine too. She knew she would forget if she didn't. I got a card from my parents yesterday and will add a little bit to what they sent me $ and buy me a new swimming suit for this year. Of course it all will wait till next week when I get paid.

I am kitty sitting this weekend or at least till Tuesday. These guys just got their eyes open on Thursday and have already won my heart and Scott's too. If I had the camera over here I'd take a pic of them but Scott has the camera over there right now. One little black one which I am calling Might Moe.....now this can be for Mighty Mouth cause it is the loudest or for Mighty Motor cause his motor runs nearly the whole time it is nursing on the bottle. The other 2 are grey and one has a bit more lighter grey around its face and I have been calling it Smokey Jo. The other has just been being called Baby for now, it is the most content during feeding time....but the hardest to get the bottle away from when it is time to quit. The other 2 pretty much quit on their own but the last one has to be told it is time to stop. Yes, I am enjoying myself doing this.

I've also learned a new name for an art thing I use to do all the time and just thought it was junk but now I see it as ZENTANGLE. Want to know more about it look here

You never know you might be an artist and didn't even know it! It is a lot like doodling or as is pointed out in some of the material I have read about it it is also a form of meditation. I use to do things like this all the time but was told all I was doing was wasting paper......NO I was making ART.

Grumman the Wonder Cat

Just had to share this pic of Grumman the Wonder Cat......he is so funny to watch. You wouldn't believe by watching him play that back before Thanksgiving he was rescued from being an almost roadkill cat. He was in such bad shape, 2 or 3 breaks in his pelvic area, a break in his tail close to the pelvic and since then we have decided he has had a break in the tip of his tail. Also he had major nerve damage to his left leg where he was dragging it behind him......well as you can see in these pics he is now getting that leg up under him very nicely now. He also is beginning to put weight on that leg when he is moving around. You can definitely tell however, when he is tired as the leg get more lazy about pulling up under him.....there are times when Scott has to refuse to play games with him when he is like that.

Grumman has gotten where he will come up to Scott and hunch his back and act like he is going to come at him the turn around and run, it seems to be his way of trying to get Scott to play chase with him. Another thing Grumman does is when you are playing with something you are pulling and he is chasing, he has a habit of going in front of the object where he thinks it will come out at......he loves waiting for things to come out the other side. We now have several "tubes", like toilet paper tubes and paper towel tubes and even a gift wrap tube that you put a small ball on the edge of them and he will literally knock the ball trying to get it to the other end. We have pics of him with his leg up to the body in the tube......he also loves looking down the tubes to see you at the other end.

The other night when Grumman was here I went into my bedroom to put up my laundry and he came to the door and talked at me like he was asking permission to come in so I told him "sure come on in". Then he went over to the bed and again like he was asking permission to get up on the bed....."sure you can get up there", so he jumped up and then came the fun part. He walked over to the pillow I use between my knees when I sleep and tried to put his head under it.......ah I thought I know what he wants. So I took a couple more pillows and made him a bridge and sure enough he dove under it. Then I went to the other side and peaked in the small tunnel and he jumped out at me. You see that is a game he and Scott play all the time of "where is the kitty" and then you look under where ever he is and he jumps out at you.....even though we know he has no front claws you can't help but jump back some when he does it......but he looks so proud of himself when it happens. Later Scott came in and played with us so even the comforter got into the act as Grumman figured out how to burrow under it so only his nose or an eye could be seen.

He is Grumman, our Wonder Cat......thank you to those who saved him from being road kill and becoming an important part of the family.
